About VHR
Welcome to Vintage Husky Racer (VHR), where passion for vintage Husqvarna motocross and enduro motorcycles meets precision engineering.
Founded by two lifelong motorcycle enthusiasts, Darren and Lee, VHR crafts high-end CNC products for riders who share their love for Husqvarna classics, particularly the primary kick-start engine bikes from the 1980s.
Each having upward of over 40 years of experience in motorcycle sport, Darren and Lee started Vintage Husky Racer with a simple desire – to enhance their own classic Husqvarna race bikes with top-quality components. As word spread among friends and fellow riders, the demand for VHR's products grew, leading to the creation of a company that now delivers small batches of modern parts for vintage Husqvarna bikes worldwide.
VHR's range includes standout products like the two-piece clutch cover, ignition cover, and clutch arm, specifically designed to cater to the unique needs of vintage Husqvarna racers. Recognising the challenges posed by ageing original parts and the scarcity of original replacements, VHR set out to create modern upgrades that not only look great but also offer functional benefits to those who race these iconic motocycles.
Take the two-piece clutch cover, a game-changer for racers who require rapid adjustments in the paddock. Unlike the original single-piece clutch cover, VHR's design allows for simpler and quicker clutch changes, offering speed and convenience track-side.
The ignition covers from VHR address another pain point of racers of vintage Husqvarnas – the vulnerability of original plastic covers. VHR's CNC aluminium case not only ensures durability but also eliminates the risk of warping.
At VHR, precision is paramount. While the original parts were cast, VHR's CNC machining ensures accuracy and tolerances that were previously unattainable. The result is a range of products that not only pays homage to the heritage of these bikes but elevates their performance and reliability.
What started as a passion project between two friends based in the UK has evolved, with products now sold around the world, including Australia, America and Germany.
